Frequently Asked Questions
When looking to build a home with a custom builder or buy a spec home should I involve the realtor who is selling my existing home?
No, contrary to what some agents tell people it is not helpful and actually works against you. Bringing in an outside agent will decrease your price negotiating power since the builder will have to add 3% of the sales price to his overhead if it is not in the multi list. If it is a spec home and listed through the multi list you can usually get the builder to drop the price by 3% if you go directly to the builder's model and negotiate with the builder's own salesperson.
Will taking this course help me save money?
Yes because it is always less expensive to do things at the right time, an example of this is upgraded faucets and sinks, if the information is not given at the correct time it can not only be more costly but sometimes a builder may even refuse to let you have your items installed.
Will this guide me through the process of building my custom home?
Yes it will take you all the way from lot & builder selection to the closing paperwork.
What is a custom builder anyway?
A custom builder is one who will make alterations to his model plans or build your own personal blueprint.
